Medical Records Review Q & A

What is a medical records review?

During a consultation or your first appointment with Coping Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry Services, P.C., Dr. Vansiea completes a medical records review.

She looks at past medical records and reviews your current symptoms to determine which mental health condition you may be experiencing. She assesses past diagnoses and treatments to get the full picture of your mental health.

Dr. Vansiea might recommend undergoing blood tests and a psychiatric evaluation to determine which treatment, if any, is right for you.

What are the benefits of medical records reviews?

A medical records review gives Dr. Vansiea a better idea about mental health disorders you’re at risk of or are currently experiencing. Examples include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
